Worried about data exhaustion during a WhatsApp call? Then try this!
WhatsApp is one of the most amazing extensions of Metaverse. It allows messaging, sharing audio and video messages, voice calls, and many more.
Have you ever indulged in WhatsApp voice calls? Indeed, it is a fantastic feature of WhatsApp as it is cost-effective and user-friendly.
Also, it doesn’t consume much data. However, data constraints may make you reluctant to use this feature, especially during long calls.
But now, you can stop worrying about it. To overcome this constraint, WhatsApp has introduced a solution to reduce data consumption.
This facility is available for both iPhone and Android users. To take advantage of this feature, follow the below-mentioned steps.
For Android/ Smartphone users:
To reduce your data consumption on your android phone, follow these steps:
Step1: Open the WhatsApp application.
Step2: You will see a triple-dot icon at the top corner of the WhatsApp screen. Select this icon, and subsequently, a sub-menu will appear.
Step 3: Select settings from the sub-menu.
Step 4: Select the Storage and Data option from the menu.
Step 5: You will see a ‘Useless Data’ option with a toggle. Turn on this toggle to enable a reduction in data use.
For iPhone users:
To reduce your data consumption on your iPhone, follow these steps:
Step1: Open WhatsApp on iPhone.
Step2: You will see a setting icon at the bottom corner of the screen. Select this icon, and subsequently, a sub-menu will appear.
Step3: Select the ‘Storage and Data’ option.
Step 4: Top on using the ‘Less Data for Calls’ toggle under the Network section.
Thus, through the steps mentioned above, you can reduce data consumption very quickly.
WhatsApp has a video calling facility, but currently, it doesn’t provide data use reduction for video calls.
We hope, in the future, WhatsApp will expand this feature to include video calling as well. Till then, we can continue with the available features.
