Team

Our team mixes reporting experience, product testing discipline, and a love of clear writing. That blend drives coverage that is timely, verified, and genuinely useful. The following bios are the same ones we publish on our author pages.

James Williams – Editor in Chief
James holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Purdue University and an M.A. in Journalism from the University of Missouri. He brings 12 years of newsroom and product desk experience across national and regional outlets, with reporting that spans Washington policy, global technology, and the business of media. His expertise includes public records reporting, data analysis, and long form features that connect policy to everyday impact. He has received a regional SPJ award for explanatory reporting and has appeared as a guest commentator on public radio. When he is not editing copy, James restores vintage audio gear and coaches a community cycling group. At Pan Asian Biz he sets editorial standards, leads investigations and special projects, and oversees the balance of news, analysis, and service journalism.

Lucas earned a B.A. in English with a minor in Human Computer Interaction from the University of Washington and has 9 years of experience in digital publishing and lab style product testing. He specializes in AI policy, consumer technology, and cybersecurity, and is known for clear explainers and practical how to guides. His work on device accessibility and privacy settings has been cited by digital rights groups, and he helped design a cross site testing protocol for battery and display evaluations. Off hours, Lucas is a landscape photographer and a mechanical keyboard hobbyist. He manages the tech desk, trains contributors on sourcing and verification, and signs off on reviews, explainers, and buyer’s guides.

His expertise includes comparative politics, soft power, and media analysis, and he has presented on disinformation literacy at a regional journalism conference. Oliver enjoys long distance running and film photography on weekends. He leads the global desk, edits culture features and interviews, and coordinates cross beat coverage when a story spans politics, culture, and tech.

William Johnson – Health How-To Editor
William graduated with a B.S. in Information Systems from Arizona State University and spent 8 years in IT support, knowledge base writing, and consumer help content before joining the newsroom. He focuses on health tech, digital privacy, accessibility, and step by step guides that solve common problems for readers. His open source documentation on home networking earned a community choice award, and his plain language guides are cited by several libraries and nonprofits. Away from work he experiments with home lab gear and cooks regional recipes. William owns the service journalism pipeline, maintains our style for tutorials, and partners with the health desk to vet sources and break down new research for everyday readers.

Together they cover politics, culture, health, science, and technology with consistent standards for sourcing, clarity, and corrections. Their collective perspective is what makes Pan Asian Biz credible and different.
